OTHER INFORMATION
QME Report Writing is an online/distance learning course dedicated to QME experts or soon-to-be QME experts, who want to learn the ins and outs of being a sought-after specialist in our field. Whether you are a seasoned professional and would like a refresher on the aspects of the system or are brand new to the QME process, this is a course that will help you become a better expert.

The instructors in this course have been QMEs for a number of years and have a desire to help others in our field become a better expert. They often have said they learn more on every case, whether it is their own cases or mentoring another QME. The moment the learning stops it is time to give up the title as an expert. The best experts are the ones who continually want to improve his or her own knowledge and understanding. Being an expert is a journey as opposed to a destination.

The best part of this training is the opportunity to gain specific feedback on your report writing. Again, these instructors are here to help you. After 12 hours of instruction, which includes quizzes most of the sections, you will have the opportunity to write a report with guidelines from the instructors based on a specific vignette [pre-QMEs are required to submit a report based on the vignette; already certified QMEs voluntarily can submit a redacted report for critique or write a report based on the vignette]. Your report submission will be read and critiqued with extensive feedback provided to you on ways to improve your forensic writing. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the instructors along the way to your report submission.

*Only pre-QMEs taking this course are required to submit a report.
